Don’t have a safe deposit box? For a limited time, the State Bank of Alcester will rent you one for free for one year. No strings attached.

Safe deposit boxes are a great place to stash things you can’t replace, such as photo negatives, computer backups, cards your children made, family heirlooms and more. You get the convenience of having all your valuables in one spot. With the new license requirements, it’s also a great place to store your marriage certificates and birth certificates so they are easier to find when it comes time to renew your license. They are resistant to fire, floods and other disasters. Plus, no one has access to them except those you authorize so they are safer than home safes.

Pay Visa Credit Card by Phone

Visa’s Pay by Phone program allows you to make a payment on your credit card balance over the telephone by calling into Certegy’s Customer Service at 1 (800) 423-7503. All you need to make a payment on your Visa Credit Card is to provide your checking account information to the operators. If you’re attempting to avoid late charges, this is a convenient alternative payment option because the fee for this service is only $10 compared to your late fee of $15.

Calls processed with an approval prior to 5 p.m. (Eastern) Monday through Friday will post on the next processing day. Payments received after 5 p.m. Friday through 5 p.m. Saturday will post on Sunday. Payments after 5 p.m. Saturday through Monday 5 p.m. will post on Monday. Payments missing the same day posting cutoff will be backdated using the date the call was initiated. The $10 fee will post to your credit card account at the same time the payment is posted.
